I - Xavier Darasse organ competition

Select and perform the musical programme of your choice on the finest organs in Toulouse !
This competition, founded in 1981 by Xavier dares (1934-1992), offers a unique and original opportunity : it invites candidates to imagine a concert as a performer.
It is designed to encourage the creation of artistically coherent programmes, chosen to match a given instrument, and also to enhance the reputation of the organ for a wide audience.
All types of music are acceptable: original works for organ, transcriptions, and even improvisation (for part of the programme)

The competition takes place in several stages: :
1 / short-listing based on submissions : a proposal for a concert programme, together with a recording of part of the programme
2 / a Semi-Final in Toulouse
3 / a Final that will be part of the 22e International Toulouse les Orgues Festival, with a performance of the entire programme.

II - The following prizes will be awarded:

1st prize: €6000
2nd prize: €4000
3rd prize: €2000
4th prize: €1000

> The public will be able to vote for one of the finalists to receive the symbolic "audience choice award".
> The finalists will be offered a chance to perform in concerts at partner venues, as well as to have their concert recorded in sound and video.
