Vocal ensemble À Contretemps

Created and managed by Guy Zanesi since 1995, À Contretemps brings together about forty experienced amateur singers who wish to evolve in a rich and varied register, from the early music to the contemporary music. Recruited on audition, they are invited to do a personal training course of vocal technique. The choir has a particular interest in the music of the 19th and 20th centuries and in all forms of demanding polyphonic vocal music. The choir is often invited to participate in major vocal events in the region and regularly collaborates with the baroque orchestra “Les Passions” (directed by Jen-Marc Andrieu) as well as the Baroque Ensemble of Toulouse (directed by Michel Brun). A Contretemps notably performed the Fauré Requiem for a tour in Catalonia, from Perpignan to Barcelona, in the spring of 2010.
