Alessandro Urbano

Born in Italy in 1985, Alessandro Urbano started his musical studies at the age of 11. He graduated with highest grades in organ (2008) and harpsichord (2010) from Conservatorio Statale Antonio Vivaldi in Alessandria. He then graduated in MA in Maestro al Cembalo (2012) and Organ (2014) from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneva. In 2001 he won the 2nd Prize at the 5th edition of the International Organ Competition within the International Competition Franz Schubert.

In 2010 he recorded for the Vatican Radio (organ of Ponficium Institutum Musicae Sacrae, Rome). He has performed as soloist in Italy, Germany and Switzerland, where he held a concert in 2012 in the concert hall Victoria Hall (Geneva).

He is currently Maestro di Cappella in the Basilica di S.Maria Maddalena in Novi Ligure (Poncini organ – 1742). He is one of the founders of the Ensemble L’Armonia degli Affetti (Geneva, CH), winner of the Jeune Ensemble residency in Ambronay for 2014.
