Mark Opstad

Maîtrise de Toulouse, direction

Mark Opstad began his musical education as a chorister at Bristol Cathedral. He studied music at Oxford University where he was organ scholar of Balliol College. He continued his studies at Cambridge University where he was assistant organist of Clare College.

Mark was awarded an « Entente Cordiale » scholarship by the british and french governments, allowing him to continue his organ studies in France. He was organist and assistant to the director of the Maîtrise de Caen for two years, before being appointed professor of choral music at the Conservatoire of Toulouse where he created and directs the Maîtrise de Toulouse.

In addition to his work with the Maîtrise, Mark has given organ recitals in seven european countries.
