From Toulouse, Nicole Fournié did her studies at the Conservatory of her city, where she won gold medals in lyric art and song.
She has participated in numerous master-class as often in Baroque music (with Howard Crook and the Baroque Arts of Rouen), as in opera with Maestro Michaël Enguelov (Bulgaria) and Linda Bond-Perry (USA), and in lyric art with Michèle Command and Gabriel Bacquier. She has also benefited from interpretation coaching, notably in a production of Fortunio (by Messager), from Mady Mesplé.
After one year on the stage at the Chapelle Royalle, directed by Philippe Herreweghe, she joined the company of Opéra Eclaté, with which, for five years, assumed numerous opera and operetta roles. Since 1992, she has been engaged in various theaters in France : Avignon, Tours, Saint-Etienne, Vichy, Rouen, Tourcoing, Clermont-Ferrand, Marseille, Toulouse… as well as the Royal Opera of Wallonie in Liège.
During the same period, she has performed numerous oratorios : the Requiem of Mozart, The Creation of Haydn, Carmina Burana, Stabat Mater of Pergolesi, cantatas of Bach, etc..., under the direction of Stéphane Cardon, Alix Bourbon, José Aquino, Joël Suhubiette, Dominique Tottein, Fernanda el Doro.
Nicole Fournié is a prize winner in numberous competitions : the Golden Voice in Rouen, the Offenbach Competition in Paris, The Rita Streich Prize for Lied and Oratorio, Prize for Contemporary Music and Opera Prize at Clermont-Ferrand, French Song Prize at the Competition of Saint Chamond, Operetta Prize at Béziers and at Cesson-Sévigne (Rennes).
She sang numerous roles in differents Opera houses in France (Capitole in Toulouse, Châtelet in Paris, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Marseille, Vichy, Reims, Metz...), and Belgium (Liege). She sang soprano’s part in numerous oratorii : die Shöpfung(Haydn), die Jareszeiten (Haydn), Requiem of Mozart, den Deutches Requiem of Brahms.
She has given numerous recitals : French Melodies in the Midi Pyrenees region with pianist Katia Nemirovitch-Dantchenko, French opera at the Imperial Theater of Compiègne, and the Hugo Wolf Mignon Cycle at the Capitole (Theater) of Toulouse. Recital of French Melodies in Minneapolis (USA) with pianist Jim Reilly, in Berlin with pianist Melina Burlaud. Numerous recitals of French and Viennes Operettes with pianist Eric Laur in south of France. She was part of the recital “les 3 sopranos”(with Lydia Mayo and Fréderique Varda). She sang with the trio “Olympe”. She gives several recitals with organist Jean-Claude Guidarini.
Since september 2011, she’s sang teacher in Montauban’s Conservatoire.
