Muriel Groz is indebted to her organ teachers Yves Lafargue, Denis Bordage, Liesbeth Schlumberger, François Espinasse and Wolfgang Zerer for their tuition.
She was born in 1988 in Brittany. She received an early musical education in Canada, and began preparatory organ studies in Grenoble.
She went for scientific studies, and graduated in 2010 in engineering at Grenoble Institute of Technology, and holds additionally a Master degree in Arts, Science and Technology. She worked on acoustical properties of musical instruments and vocal folds in Austria, in Germany and in Grenoble.
In 2011 she was unanimously accepted into the organ class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse in Lyon, where she graduated with a master in 2015. She has also a bachelor degree in musicology. In addition, she studied organ at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, and wrote a dissertation on north german Schnitgers organ building.
In 2010 Muriel Groz was appointed organist of the great Callinet/Cavaillé-Coll organ in Voiron. She teaches piano and organ in Grenoble and conducts a choir. She gives many concerts in France, Germany, and Austria, as soloist and with other musicians, invited at music festivals, and was also semi-finalist at the Silbermann organ competition.
