Born in Germany, Angela Metzger has studied church music and organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Edgar Krapp and Prof. Bernhard Haas. She passed all her diplomas and completed the master’s degree with highest grades; in 2015, she completed her Artist Diploma with Prof. Bernhard Haas. Furthermore, she studied oboe with Konrad Zeller at the Innsbruck Conservatory. Angela Metzger received a scholarship from the Cusanuswerk and the Germany Scholarship “Deutschlandstipendium”. She was also accepted into Yehudi Menuhin’s “Live Music Now” foundation.
She is laureate of several international organ competitions: first prize in Bad Homburg, third prize in Wiesbaden, special prize “Talent Tögel” at the ARD International Music Competition, second prize in Saint-Maurice, third prize and audience award in Tokyo-Musashino. In 2015, she won the first prize at Wuppertal and has been awarded the Bayernwerk Cultural Award for her outstanding performances in music. She has been invited to perform at the Organ Festivals in Bad Homburg and Toulouse and has given concerts throughout Europe, in Japan, in Egypt and in Oman (Royal Opera House Muscat).
