During the Greek mythology, the Acheron was the river which crossed Orpheus to rescue Eurydice from Hell. The Group wants to open a way between two contrasting worlds: life and death, past and present, ideal and reality.
Created in 2009 by François Joubert-Caillet, The Achéron is composed from musicians with very diverse origins who have been trained in the greatest “Grandes Écoles” of early music. The Achéron wishes to strengthen the links between the musicians and the audience by turning early music into an accessible one.
The Achéron resides in the Arsenal of Metz. It is invited to perform in diverse festivals in Europe. The Acheron recorded for the Ricercar-Outhere label. It distributed The Fruit of Love by Anthony Holborne, The Ludi Musici by Samuel Scheidt (Golden diapason) and the Pièces favorites, an anthology of the Pièces de Viole by Marin Marais which are entirely recorded by François Joubert-Caillet.
Distributions to come : The Requiem by Johann Caspar Kerll and the Openings by Johann Bernhard Bach.
