Martin Riccabona was born in 1993 in Tyrol/Austria. After initial piano and organ lessons at his hometown Innsbruck he began organ studies at the Anton-Bruckner-Privatuniversität in Linz, where in 2015 he completed his bachelor studies in organ and harpsichord (with Brett Leighton and Jörg Halubek), both with distinction.
He also spent one year in Hamburg, studying organ with Wolfgang Zerer and Pieter van Dijk as part of the international Erasmus student exchange programme. Martin pursues an active concert schedule, both as soloist and ensemble musician. He has performed in several european countries. He is prizewinner of several international competitions, including the organ competitions “Daniel Herz”, Brixen/Italy and “Paul Hofhaimer”, Innsbruck/Austria. In 2014 he won the “Grand Prix d’ECHO” at Freiberg/Germany, bringing him the title “Young ECHO-Organist of the year 2015”.
He also deals extensively with issues of instrument making and has acted as a consultant in several organ building projects.
