Virgile Monin

Born in 1987, Virgile Monin completed his music studies at the Nantes Conservatoire, where he was a student of Michel Bourcier. He also studied improvisation in Pierre Pincemaille’s class at the Conservatoire in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. In addition, he benefited from the advice of Jean Guillou, Thierry Escaich and Henri-Franck Beaupérin. He also holds a Bachelor in Musicology from the Rennes 2 University. Virgile Monin is currently a student in the writing class of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris.

In 2011, he won three international competitions : in Angers (Grand Prix d’orgue Jean-Louis Florentz of the Académie des Beaux-Arts), Luxembourg and Biarritz (Grand Prix André-Marchal). He ended 4th at the Xavier Darasse Organ Competition held in Toulouse in 2013.

Virgile Monin regularly gives recitals both in France and abroad.
