Wayne Marshall

British conductor, organist and pianist Wayne Marshall is Chief Conductor of WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne, and Organist and Associate Artist of the Bridgewater Hall. He became Principal Guest Conductor of Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi in 2007. Wayne Marshall is a celebrated and award-winning interpreter of Gershwin, Bernstein and other 20th century American composers.

As organ recitalist, he draws on exceptionally varied repertoire and performs worldwide. He appears regularly at the Bridgewater Hall for organ recitals and educational programmes. He has recorded extensively for numerous major labels and received an ECHO (Deutscher Schallplattenpreis) award for his ‘Gershwin Songbook’ CD. His latest Organ CD called Gershwin and Bernstein Improvised released on Fugue State Records has received numerous excellent reviews.

In October 2016, Wayne Marshall was awarded the Independence Golden Jubilee Award towards his contribution for outstanding service to the UK.
