Barbara Hünninger

Barbara Hünninger began the cello at the Musikakademie Basel (Switzerland). At 18 years old, after one year of private lessons of the viola da gamba with Silvia Tecardi, she joined the class of Emmanuelle Guigues in Villeurbanne (FR) and also began the baroque cello with Hilary Metzger. She joined, as a violist, the class of Marianne Muller at the CNSMD of Lyon where she obtained the Bachelor diploma in 2015. At the same time, she continued the baroque cello in Villeurbanne while finishing her Master degree in the CNSMD.
During her studies, Barbara had the opportunity to receive teaching in several courses and masterclasses with Friederike Heumann, Jordi Savall, Paolo Pandolfo, Guido Balestracci, David Simpson and Hager Hanana.
She plays regularly with different young ensembles from Lyon in festivals and concert series, such as “Les tribunes baroques” (CH), “Festival Radio France Montpellier” (FR), “Les Rendez-vous de Musique Ancienne” (FR) and “Fringe Festival d’Utrecht” (NL).
She is a member of the ensemble Les Kapsber’girls and founded in 2017 her own ensemble La Léon.
