Mūza Rubackytė

Mūza Rubackytė, pianist studied at the Tchaïkowski Conservatory in Moscow, she won the famous All Union competition in Saint-Petersburg, a competition to elect the best musicians from the USSR. She also won the Grand Prix at the Budapest Liszt-Bartók International Piano Competition.
She entered in Lithuanian resistance what caused that she had no more her passport until 1989. In Paris she won the first price in the international piano competition Les Grands Maîtres Français of the Triptyque Association.
Her international career led her to perform recitals and concertos in many festivals and in the most prestigious concert halls in France and around the world. She played with the greatest conductors and most renowned orchestras. The composer K. Penderecki regularly invites her to perform his Resurrection Concerto, a poignant work in tribute to the victims of 9/11. She is frequently invited to participate in juries of the most prestigious competitions and teaches in international music institutions.
She received the most prestigious distinction for the promotion of her country Lithuania in the world. The City of Vilnius honors her with its highest decoration : the St. Christopher’s Medal, the Ministry of Culture of Hungary awarded Mūza the Pro Cultura Hungarica Prize. She is the President of the Lithuanian Liszt Society LISZtuania.

“Lisztienne” in her soul, she dedicates her last CD to the lieder of Franz Schubert transcribed by the Hungarian composer: "From the waltz to the abyss", (Lyrinx-2018). Her discography has more than 30 albums which all have received enthusiastic critics of the international press. She is a laureate of the Golden CD.
In 2017, her album devoted to the composer Julius Reubke, with the organist Olivier Vernet, received very good reviews (Label Ligia). She is the artistic director of the Vilnius International Piano Festival, which she created in 2009.
