Richard Gowers

Richard Gowers, british pianist and organist, studied at the Mendelssohn Conservatoire in Leipzig with Stefan Engels and King’s College Cambridge, where he was organ scholar.
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists at the age of 17 and won the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition in 2013.
He has given recitals around the world, including a Bach series in Brisbane, Australia, three tours to the United States and performances in Iceland, Ireland, Germany and throughout the UK. Concerts in 2018 have included performances at Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, Meldorf International Organ Festival (Germany) and the world premiere of Nico Muhly’s organ cycle The Lenten Gospels in Cambridge.
His debut CD, Messiaen’s La Nativité du Seigneur was recorded at King’s College, Cambridge and will be released in September 2018.
He currently lives in London, where he studies piano accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music with Michael Dussek and Joseph Middleton.
